The Bonny Prince and His Tapestry

Since we've been watching Kathy's study of the Bayeux Tapestry and her stitching of one section, I thought you would like to see an amazing modern piece that tells part of the story of Bonny Prince Charlie's 1745 campaign.  This huge tapestry is known as the Prestonpans Tapestry.

If you are not a Scot, you may never have heard the romantic tale of Prince Charles Edward Stuart and his quest to conquer England.  It's a tale worthy of several tapestries!

The Church Report

Sandy shared some pictures of ecclesiastical embroidery she took while in England a while back. I wish I understood the symbolism of the designs. Heck, I wish I'd been on the trip with her! Don't miss the baptism photo at the very bottom of her blog. I think it is cross stitch but I am not sure.
