Prompted by a question from a customer, Kreinik has published a listing of their gold and silvers in order from light to dark. This is going to help me figure out just how close some silvers I'm planning to use for a project are without having to stitch samples. I am so sure you'll want to refer to this often as well that I've adding this link to my listing of Needlepoint Groups and Thread Resources at the bottom of Blog.

The Stocking of Your Dreams UPDATED
Rittenhouse just posted photographs of some of the custom stockings they have had designed for customers. They aren't the only shop that does this, of course--always check with your local store to see if they offer this service--but the range of designs they've come up with is inspiring. We all want the stocking of our dreams and sometimes a custom piece is the best route to get exactly what you want.

UPDATE: Here is how the painters at Rittenhouse work. Fascinating!
