Remember that Barbara Bergsten posted a hand exercise on her blog recently?

That was so popular that Barbara has talked her yoga teacher into writing articles to help us keep from hurting ourselves during the long stitching sessions we love to indulge in. Here's the first article. I'm printing it out and sticking it next to my stitching chair.

Thanks, Barbara!

Thankyou so much for this!
ReplyDeleteI've already reached the 'inflammed tendon' stage. I use an anti-inflammatory gel, covered with thin plastic gloves, for 30 mins before embroidering to lessen the pain, including on my wrists.
(Using the gloves is called "occluding", and strengthens the effect of the gel)
Durn it, e-Rose! I was hoping you were better. Stay tuned. There will be more yoga for needlepointers (which any stitcher can use) later on. Perhaps this will help a little but do take care.
