Twinkle Thread UPDATED

I have heard a new thread called Twinkle, a mix of metallic and rayon, is now available. Here is a photo of the colors available plus a little bit about it.  The shop says it is between Kreinik's #8 and #12 in size and works well on 18 count.  Personally, I find both #8 and #12 braid a little too fat for some stitches on 18 count, so proceed with caution.  I'd love to hear about it in the Comments (or email me at chillyhollow@hotmail.com) if you have seen or stitched with Twinkle.

UPDATE:  Enriched Stitch has come through with a closeup photo and more information on Twinkle. Thank you!

Gone Stitching distributes Twinkle and has added some photos to their shop website.

  1. I'm dying to see some of this Twinkle thread!
I generally use #12 or #8 on 18, but for counted work. For painted canvases (which I rarely do) I thnk it would be #8 and #4.

  2. They are pretty. Why don't you like using rayon or nylon? Melita

    1. I hate the way they feel, the way they look and of course how difficult they are for me to stitch with. There's nothing about rayon threads I like and nylon ones aren't much better. But this is a personal preference.

  4. Wow, I feel your dislike! I'm going to have to go through my stash & see if I have either type. I pick a thread for the color or coverage.

    1. I am prejudiced, I admit it. However, I do like Rainbow Gallery's rayon thread Panache. Otherwise, if I want shine, I use silk. Everyone has their favorites among thread types and brands, don't they?
