Digital Introduction to Japanese Embroidery

I own a copy of the basic introduction to Japanese Embroidery book published by the Japanese Embroidery Center. It is a fascinating introduction to Japanese Embroidery, with lots of interesting information such as how to twist flat silk into thread before stitching with it, how to lace up a Japanese Embroidery frame and how to use laying tools and koma.  It is not a cheap little book, though, so I couldn't really recommend it to someone who was curious but without a large wallet. So I was thrilled to see that it is now available as a digital download.  Make sure you read the end of Mary Corbet's article to understand what software you will need to open the book once you purchase it, however.

Aren't we lucky to live in a world where books are a download away?!

P.S.  If you want a small taste of Japanese Embroidery, read what Plays with Needle has been up to.
