ReplyDeleteJust a few thoughts on the Pinterest issue (also not a fan...) All of the ire and hate directed towards Pinterest, is just a little mis-directed. When you sign up for a Pinterest account, you (as a user) specifically agree to only pin public domain, non-copyrighted pictures. Pinterest has sneakily (or not so sneakily) written their "terms of usage" agreements so the responsibility for mis-use falls squarely and securely on the shoulders of the person who "pins" a picture. I am honestly not certain what they do about policing, but the people who scan and post cross-stitch or counted thread designs are the culprit here. It boggles the mind that anyone thinks it is OK to put any chart or graph on a scanner bed for any reason. And they wonder why counted thread designers are either struggling or throwing in the towel and walking away...
Good point, Don. I should say I don't like how Pinterest is misused, shouldn't I? It's about time I log into my Pinterest account and start looking for my photos that have been copied without permission again. Pinterest is said to take things down if you complain.
DeleteI have had the same problem with my photos showing up over there....sigh....like we have time to stay on top of that!
