The days are flying past me here in Chilly Hollow, but Pamela reminded me that today is Hari-Kuyo, the Japanese day to honor our needles.

Stitches for Wooly Hats and Snowmen

Ridgewood Needlepoint's blog shows off four cute snowmen in wooly hats from Patti Paints.  They also suggest four stitches for the snowy bodies and the kalem stitch for the hats.

Enlarge the page to see the stitch diagrams better.  I would be tempted to add tiny crystal beads in the empty spaces between the Upright Stitch crosses to give the snowman more icy sparkle.
