Summer is for Learning

I know classes are the last thing kids want to take during the summer but I bet they might enjoy creating a beautiful mermaid or a crab tank on one of those rainy days when there is nothing to do!  The mermaid would be very pretty with French knot hair and a few beads on her long graceful tail while stitching the crab in a red metallic with square stitches might enhance it's tank-like look for someone who loves monsters.

Needlepoint is all about combining stitches, canvas and fantasies to come up with something personal and unique, after all.  Kids should learn to do that.

New Life for Old Needlepoint

It always amazes me when I find the same theme dealt with two different places in one day. Ridgewood and Vicky are both talking about recycling needlepoint pieces to make them new, fresh and more suited to their owners' lifestyles.

Do you have pieces you need to refinish and reuse?
