Needle Nicely has written about her trip to St. Charles, complete with photos of some of the canvases Mary Agnes brought home that will appeal to her local customers or the snow birds that flock to Florida in the cooler months. We customers tend to forget that shops in various parts of the country have very different clienteles. Everyone looks for a canvas about the place where they spent a pleasant holiday; East Coast people love belt canvases while on the California coast belt canvases don't sell; etc. Bet you will find it very interesting what your shop's customers prefer if you ask the next time you see your shop owner!

Writing a Book about Needlework
Ever wonder what it is like to write a book about needlepoint? Sue Dulle gives us a glimpse of all the work behind the pages with this brief explanation of why her book on Or Nue projects took so long to come out. Of course her book has two projects described in it, which is a little different than a book that is all about stitch diagrams, but some of the same challenges are involved in each type of publication.

Sometimes I wonder how any books get published at all!
