Fans of Gay Ann Roger's counted canvaswork have seen her Queen Elizabeth I portrait. If you have not, let me show you this video.

I just heard from someone who has one of the kits for Queen Elizabeth for sale. She is asking $300 for the complete kit (including the real pearls and all threads), the stretcher bars, tacks and postage within the United States. If you are interested, email me at chillyhollow at hotmail dot com and give me contact information. I'll put you in touch with the seller.

Stem Stitch Corners
Labels:

Stem stitch is one of my favorite stitches, but it does have drawbacks, particularly on needlepoint canvas where you have to use a sharp needle to pierce threads to get all your stem stitches the same length. And then there is how to get it to make a sharp corner without coming loose....

Tiny Cushions, Tiny Bottles
I love miniature needlework, don't you? Somehow designs when they are created in miniature become even more wonderful! Take these teensy pillows, for example!

I also love murder mysteries. Agatha Christie herself, who was a drugs dispenser in a pharmacy during World War I as part of her contribution toward the war effort, would have adored the poison bottles from Kirk and Hamilton (now Kirk and Bradley).

So much needlepoint, so little time!
