TNNA Market Trends

Enough new designs are out at the Winter TNNA show that I have seen new trends emerging in the painted canvas world for 2015--The first is that mushrooms are everywhere, especially the poisonous Amanita muscaria with its white polka dots on a red cap.  Birds of a Feather has a lot of small mushroom pieces.

These build upon Maggie's mushroom canvas and Melissa Shirley's vintage mushrooms from last year.

Happy Anniversary to Susan Roberts!

Needle Nicely is at Market and has just sprung a surprise on Susan Roberts in honor of thirty years in the business.  It's more proof that stitchers are the nicest folks on the planet.

Who Paints Canvases from Photographs? UPDATED

People are always looking for recommendations for artists who will transfer a photograph to a needlepoint canvas. After all, there are special places, people or animals we'd like to stitch if only....

This came up on Facebook's needlepoint group.  Listed below are the shops and companies folks recommended.  Some paint by hand, some use transfer printers.  You'll have to follow up with each for samples of their work and pricing.  I have no personal experience with any of these folks so I can't tell you who does the best work.  These are recommendations from customers or postings from folks who offered their services.
