While looking up this link for a friend who wanted to know where to order Paternayan 3 ply wool, I discovered that Colonial Needle has the rights to reproduce Paternayan colors in their line of 3 ply wool that they call Colonial Persian.
Here is a bit from Colonial's website about their Colonial Persian thread with information about how to match their color numbers with the old Paternayan color numbers.
You can browse the colors available on Colonial's website. It doesn't look like they have a color card with real thread samples available yet.
