The Quail Run e-newsletter has been available for several days. I'm just late mentioning it because I updated my computer, which takes about six hours to download (my ISP is NOT the faster on the planet) plus time trying to make the backup work again (it felt cranky) and attempts to master the new word processing program. While I go mutter bad words at the word processor as I attempt to find the tools I use, now relabeled and hidden all over the place, you can have fun reading what Quail Run and its customers have been up to.

RIding the Train to Needlepoint
Labels:

Erin's blog Needlepoint Land is always different. Unlike everyone else who posts about their stitching or their products, Erin takes us into flights of fancy. Today she takes us riding a Google search to see what we can find. You can jump on the train at the Needlepoint Land stop at the link below.

By the way, thanks for the nice compliment about Blog, Erin. I wonder if Beloved will get me a conductor's cap for Christmas? LOL

A Face in Split Stitch

Like me, Mary Corbet loves ecclesiastical embroidery. Today's article is not only interesting (she's talking restoration) and the image of The Virgin on the vestment is lovely, but the face is worked in light coverage split stitches. I've never seen light coverage split stitches before, so I was riveted. I really really really am going to have to try a face in split stitches!

Hope this is inspiring to those of you who are always looking for a great stitch for faces.
