DMC's Stitchable Metallic Mesh

Just before Christmas DMC sent me a package of their new stitchable metallic mesh and asked that I play around with it. This is what I got in the mail--

The mesh is a ten inch square of metallic mesh that is gold on one side and silver on the other.  It reminds me of Congress cloth in that the holes are quite small in relationship to the threads that create the mesh.  The mesh is reversible.  You can stitch on either side.  The package comes with a floral line drawing that you can transfer onto the mesh and stitch.

The Stitchable Metallic Mesh Package Opened
In the photograph in the link above you can see that it is in an embroidery hoop.  I think using a hoop will dent the mesh and I want to use as much of it to create Christmas ornaments as possible.  So my first task is to figure out how to mount the mesh so I can stitch with it.  My second task is to figure out what size needle and thread to use and decide on a design.  Stay tuned!

Witches and Monsters from Winter 2017 TNNA SHOW

This TNNA show is full of witches and other monsters.  For example, Barbara Elmore's "Frank's Bride" is ultra creepy.

Are you a fan of Brenda Stofft's steampunk series?  If so, you will adore her "Steampunk Witch."

Sandra Gilmore's "Decisions, Decisions" is hilarious!

Alice Peterson has two witches which seem to be Victorian to me.  More steampunk?

Labors of Love has a new companion to last year's Frankie.  She is called "Frank's Bride."

Labors of Love also has a superb lady for their limited edition series of 2017, by the way.  This is "Morgana."  She was a witch.
