Why I Hate Google UPDATED

Blogger blogs owners are seeing the message below when they log into their blog.  Many European countries object to the way Google tracks and spies on users of their software and this is their attempt to try and rein the company in.

European Union laws require you to give European Union visitors information about cookies used on your blog. In many cases, these laws also require you to obtain consent.

As a courtesy, we have added a notice on your blog to explain Google's use of certain Blogger and Google cookies, including use of Google Analytics and AdSense cookies.

You are responsible for confirming this notice actually works for your blog, and that it displays. If you employ other cookies, for example by adding third party features, this notice may not work for you. Learn more about this notice and your responsibilities.

Naturally I can't find any such information posted on any of my blogs, even those that don't have anything at all from a third party used behind the scenes.  Once I find it, I will post it here in the right hand column.  Until then, this will have to do.  I've found information stating visiting Blog gives your implied consent to being tracked by Google but I am not certain about that.  So if you are visiting from Europe or a European server, this will have to do for now.

Just be aware Google tracks your every move for their own purposes.  Sadly, the free software I use to run Blog is part of this system.  They have their tentacles into most of the Internet these days so it is going to be very hard for you to avoid being spied on.

UPDATE:  Martin, winner of today's Smart Cookie Award, suggests I visit Blog via it's UK server.  When I do, this is what I see--

Clicking on "Got It" will remove the notice at the top of the page forever.

If you have a Blogger blog and want to check this on your device, go to this place to check.

THANK YOU, MARTIN!

I'm not going to tell you what she says.  Go read it and then comment here or on her blog.

Beautiful Standups

Ada Hayden of Eye Candy showed off several of her designs on her blog that were stitched by customers and made up into standing pieces by West Coast Finishing.   The designs are charming, the stitching wonderful and the finishing perfection so I thought you'd like to see.  Thanks for the "eye candy," Ada!
