The Cat is Out of the Bag UPDATED

The cat is out of the bag and the surprise is over!  Both Needle Works and Bristly Thistle have posted photographs of Leigh Designs' latest series, which is called Old Crows.

I stitched Night Rider (the one with the witch ball) while Sandy Arthur stitched Night Cap (the one with the cocktail). We've both done stitch guides for these canvases, too.  Your shop can order them from Leigh when they order the painted canvases.  My guides are available directly from me as well.

UPDATE:  You can see Sandy's version and mine here, thanks to Quail Run.  There will be a better photo Monday when Leigh posts photos of all the Old Crow series on her website.  (Hint:  Sandy uses a lot of silk ribbon on her leaves while mine are all silk and beads.)

To see more, check the Chilly Hollow Stitch Guides Blog on Monday morning when I'll post photos and the link to the Leigh Designs website so you can see them all better.

By the way, if you have a Facebook account, look for River Silks Ribbon.  They are posting photos of the TNNA show there.

UPDATE #2:   KreinikGirl is posting photos to her Twitter page.  Here's the link which I could see even not logged into Twitter.  (Yes, I have a Twitter account and no, I've never used it.)

Robin is also eating crab and looking at magnets, this time from Accoutrement Designs.

Visiting The French Knot

Katherine took a trip when Hurricane Isaac came to call, and managed to make a nice long visit to The French Knot in Fort Worth.   It is great to peek inside the shop and see what other stitchers Katherine met are working on.

Clear Warning Signs

This morning I stumbled across this warning that Eterna Silk is discontinued. Of course Trish is in South Africa, so that may just mean that Eterna is no longer being sold in her country.  She does link to a great conversion chart to DMC which will help anyone who needs to switch to another brand.
http://trishburr.com/2012/08/17/eterna-silk-discontinued/

I tried to find the Eterna website, which seems to have disappeared.  The parent company, Yodamo, Inc., does still have a site up but it comes with a warning about a fraudulent eBay seller.  If you click on the catalogue link, the site seems to be out of date. None of the links to the catalogue or anything else work.  It looks like they've gone out of business to me.

I also found this on a Canadian site.

Thread Express does seem to have some Eterna left but in limited quantities.  However, I have heard complaints about slow shipments from Thread Express.  Order at your own risk.

On the positive side, I did notice mention of Silk Mill silk floss and tracked down their website.  I've never heard of them, so I'd love to hear from someone who has used their silk floss.  Add a comment below or email me at chillyhollow at hot mail dot com if the Comments section won't work for you.  I'd also like to hear from you if you know anything about what has happened to Eterna Silk.

I loved Eterna Silk's colors and their stranded filament silk.  I am sorry to see them go.
