Fun in Philly (ANG Seminar) UPDATED

Melita is a stitching blogger who is already in Philadelphia, helping out at ANG's Seminar.  Follow her adventures on her blog.

If you belong to the ANG email list, there are photographs of ANG Seminar setup in the Yahoo Group photo albums. Later on probably these photos will be on the ANG website where everyone can see them but I don't see links there yet.

I'll update this article with new information once other bloggers arrive.

UPDATE: Scarlet Thread is packing to leave.  There are new items in their store so do email the shop if things are out of stock before they return from Philly so they can re-order.

Autumn is in the Air

Fall is in the air here in Chilly Hollow. A few leaves are falling and one huge oak has started dropping acorns. This is the tree the deer and wild turkeys fought over two years ago. Last year it was the tree in the middle of the driveway but that one hasn't lost any acorns yet. It's funny how there is always one tree that becomes a territorial struggle between birds and mammals each year, and it is never the same one.

I've seen other signs of autumn as well.  Here's the nicest one.

Packing for Baltimore

The TNNA show in Baltimore starts September 7. Whoopee! Barbara has new suitcases she plans to fill with goodies.

Pepita has a new model, a purple bedroom from the Home Sweet Home series.  You'll laugh when you hear why she chose this to stitch.  (Click on the link to see the rest of the series.)

Quail Run is taking Nancy Coffelt Christmas stockings to display at their booth.

It's not going to be ready until the January TNNA show, but dede Odgen just announced on Facebook that she's doing an expanded Shadow Stitches book. Can't wait!  It does look like her book More Shadow Stitching is still available, however.

Amanda Lawford and her son Derek Clark have updated the AL website.  There are plenty of new things under the New category, plus they have added new box styles to the boxes they sell.  Look at the bottom of the page where you will see "Includes New Boxes."  Click on that to see all the many boxes they sell, not just the few that are under the New category.

Vicky DeAngelis has glimpses of new tools that will be available at Baltimore.

EyeCandy has made some unique scissors fobs for TNNA.  Ruth Schmuff will have them if you are a shop owner or can bribe one to pick up one for you.  I think Ruth might have some from earlier batches still in her shop, Bedecked and Beadazzled.

Finally, SharonG has a new Christmas design, a stitcher's ornament.  This will debut at Baltimore but Nimble Needle is taking pre-orders for the canvas and a canvas/stitch guide combo.  The shop will even do a threads and beads kit.  I can attest no one does a more thorough stitch guide than SharonG.

Need a Project Safe? UPDATED

I'd totally forgotten about project safes, the DIY custom protection you can make for each project that needs to stay safe on its stretcher bars until you can get back to it. Ruth lays out how she makes hers on her blog.   It doesn't look too hard, actually.

Here's the September 2010 issue of Needlepoint Now that has instructions.  If you don't own a copy but want one, mouse over "Back Issues" at the top of the page and you will find purchase instructions for back issues.

BfromM corrected me.  The project is in NeedlePointers.

Many thanks for the correction!
