The Loretta Spears Archive
Labels:
blog,
Loretta Spears
The last two-three months I've been thinking about creating a place to assemble all of Loretta Spear's designs. There are always questions about her work--where to find charts, what her mystery projects look like, etc., so I started a new site to collect her work. If you forget to bookmark it and want to visit later, one of the tabs under the header is about the site and has a link so you can always get there from here.
http://lorettaspears.blogspot.com/
I hope to write something about--and perhaps post a photo of--all of Loretta Spears' counted thread pieces, including her mystery designs. If you don't want to know what her mystery designs look like, don't click on the above. I have posted several photographs and hope to post more soon.
There's a lot of work still to do, but I'm hoping that Blog readers will chip in and help. If you have a Loretta Spears chart or a magazine with one of her designs in it, please read the little blurb about that piece I've written and see if you can add anything to what I've assembled. If you have a photograph to share, that's even better. You can email me at chilly hollow at hot mail dotcom. Corrections are welcome, too.
I have links still to add, but I'm writing blog owners asking permission to reuse their photos and link to their site and that takes time. I will add a new photo today, and I have a checklist of items I'm trying to find out. However, once I go through all my To Do list I am sure the Loretta Spears site will still be lacking, so help me out if you can.
With her family opposed to reproducing her designs, this isn't going to be an easy task but there are so many questions about her work, I hope the website I've started will help stitchers and be a tribute to her original designs.
