The Beaded Drizzle Stitch

Mary Corbet may be an embroiderer, but she's up-to-date on the needlepoint world's new trend--adding beads to stitches. Here is how to top your drizzle stitch with a bead. Not familiar with drizzle stitch? Not to worry--Mary has links to a video on how to do this stitch in the article.

Once you read through it, you'll be ready to create tangled dreadlocks for your witch or snake hair for your gorgon!

Stitching Abbey's Stocking

The Faith of a Spider blog just posted progress photos of the stocking she is stitching. It is one of the elaborate Tapestry Tent designs now distributed by Susan Roberts. The details are amazing, but note how some things were omitted or changed to better suit the stitcher. You don't have to slavishly follow the painted design on your canvas if you don't want to.   That's an important lesson to learn as a stitcher--trust your own taste and style.
