WARNING! DANGER!

Ruth Schmuff just sent a warning email to her Bedecked and Beaddazzled newsletter recipients and regular customers that someone has hacked her customer database and has added code that sends emails anyone placing an order asking for their credit card numbers to be emailed to whoever's pretending to be Ruth "to confirm their purchase."  DON'T DO IT!  Ruth never ever does business this way.

It's a good time to remember that any website is vulnerable to this sort of thing and doing business by phone is safer.  No one is safe these days from cyber criminals but it helps to do business via check or Paypal or phone when you can.  If you get a request for your credit card info via email, check before you send it and give it over the phone if you can.  No email is totally secure.

Three Sisters, Three Hairstyles

It's been a while since we've talked about hair in needlepoint, so I was thrilled to see this Bargello Needlepont article about a painted canvas project that features three women, each with a different hair style that reflects the personality of each.  Each sister wears a different headband in a different Bargello pattern as well, but I was particularly interested in the way each type of hair was created.  If you enlarge the photo as much as possible, you'll see just how intricate a pattern was created with two of the three hair treatments.  (The third person's hair is barely visible so the focus there is on the headband.)  Very interesting!  We forget sometimes that hair can be stylized and patterned in intricate stitches.  It doesn't have to be realistic to be wonderful hair.

I think the design is by Clarice, still distributed by Barbara Russell.  I am not certain, though, so if you know, please tell us in the comments (or email me directly at chilly hollow at hot maildotcom if you can't make Blogger's Comments work).
