Bookmark These Blogs UPDATED

I know a lot of folks use the Blog list below to keep up with various needlepoint blogs.   However, some shop blogs are invisible to Blog because the website software that operates them is apparently incompatible with RSS feeds.  Although these blogs are listed on Blog's list, they are never updated.

Please bookmark these two so you can visit them periodically.

You may have read that Google's Reader software (which powers Blog's list) is being dropped in July. I have no idea how this will effect the list.  It may still work.  It may not.  We will have to wait and see.

UPDATE:  I found another website with an embedded blog.  Please bookmark this one, too.

Stitcherie's Spring/Summer Challenge

Sheena James is one of the two challenge masters (Ruth Schmuff is the other) for Stitcherie's spring-summer challenge canvas. Stitcherie members choose Zecca's Camouflage Birds canvas. The way it works is you get the canvas and then each month or so you get stitches or threads from the Challenge Masters that you have to use somewhere on the design.

Then you post progress photos on Stitcherie. It's great fun as no two folks do their canvas the same way.  Stitches go in different places or look totally different because different threads were used.

Securing Silk Ribbon on Your Needle

Quail Run's latest shop newsletter is now available online. Besides the wonderful customer gallery, photos of new items from the last trade show, and information on their Colors of Praise trunk show and an upcoming Margaret Bendig class, there is great information on how to lock your silk ribbon on your needle so you don't have to keep re-threading it as you stitch.

Visiting Aristeia

Staff from Chaparral Needlepoint in Texas recently visited Aristeia in California during the TNNA Winter 2013 trade show. They took plenty of photographs of the inside of the shop and of the wonderful models on display there.   The photos are posted on Needlepointing in Your Nest's Facebook page.  If you have an account, you can see the photos here.  If you don't, I'm not sure if these will be viewable.  Sorry!
