I love looking at photos of finished pieces. I get ideas for my own finishing, I get to see designs I didn't know existed, and I am always amazed by the talented stitchers who live among us. Nimble Needle in Atlanta has put up a lovely Gallery of finished pieces for us to browse this morning. I recommend you click on the first thumbnail, then use the Next button to stroll through the larger photographs.

Pepita Poses the Question
If it were me, I'd make it into a pillow while immediately starting her on Project #2. How would you handle something like this?

Many thanks to Pepita for the thought-provoking link.

The Embroidered Box
Labels:

Thistle Threads,
Tricia Nguyen
Have you seen the fancy covered boxes of the 17th Century here and there?
Tricia Nguyen is talking about the work that went into her reproduction casket class on her blog. There are only four short entries so far, so it'll be easy for you to catch up on the story and then bookmark the site to see how a casket class was born and gain insights into these wonderful boxes made and then decorated with all kinds of embroidery 400 years ago.

Here's a bit about the Cabinet of Curiosities Class, which is sadly full. I believe there is a sign up sheet for a second class, assuming that Tricia can get all the materials again.
