Thanks to Donna's recommendation I've been reading the Embroiderers Association of Canada's blog where I stumbled across this counted canvaswork candy dish!

Now that's not something you see every day! A little searching found this information on the designer Carol Storie's project.

Here is her website. The candy dish project isn't listed there as it is still probably only a teaching piece.

I had no idea the Montpelier Museum's NeedleArt 2014 exhibit was this month!

Luckily the Needle Retailer posted the link above on Facebook. Here's a bit more about the dates/times in case you are in the Laurel, Maryland area in November.

Counted Canvaswork Delights

Fans of counted canvaswork, particularly pieces by Jim Wurth and Kurdy Biggs/Threedles, will want to check out the SBCANG website to see some of their work stitched by chapter members. I love seeing the various colors and the ways the Threedles chart was turned into ornaments instead of one big piece.

Fans of either designer who want to see more of their work and possibly buy charts should visit Blog's tabs labeled "Counted Canvaswork Designers" and "Counted Canvaswork Shops" to find more examples of their work and shops that Blog readers say stock a large number of charts. To return here, just click on the Home tab. See how easy I make it to spend way too much money on charts? LOL
Enjoy the show. Many thanks to SBCANG for being such a talented and giving group!
(By the way, if your shop has a ton of needlepoint charts and they aren't on the shop list, please let me know by either adding a comment below or sending me a quick note at chillyhollowathotmaildotcom. Thanks!)

If you are a fan of Ehrman's English needlepoint kits, then you have seen Magie Hollingworth's designs.

Ehrman has updated her profile (first link below) and done a video interview (second link below) as part of their artist profile series. It's great fun to meet Magie and hear her approach to needlepoint design, so get yourself a cuppa and settle down to visit with one of Ehrman's artists.
