Teresa Needs Your Good Thoughts

This has been an especially hectic week here in Chilly Hollow so I am slow letting your know Teresa at Homestead Needle Arts needs a few good wishes (or perhaps a sale or two from her online shop) to cheer her up after the disaster of her Small Business Saturday Sale. Not only did she bake cookies for the hoards of customers who never showed up, but several that did were thieves one of whom distracted her while the other stole her wallet and went on a spending spree with Teresa's credit cards!

Everyone please send Teresa all your best wishes for a better holiday season than it started out for her.

The Nutcracker

The latest newsletter for Amy's Golden Strand is up on her site now and it is all about the nutcracker!  Amy became famous for her treatment of the Danji nutcrackers, each of which is an amazing character with unusual stitches and backgrounds out of Amy's imagination.

I have to admit I don't like nutcrackers.  All those teeth creep me out, but I do own one of Amy's nutcrackers.  Robin Hood, Amy's guide and I think all the threads live somewhere in my stash.  If you are interested, email me and we'll figure out a deal so he can come live with you since I know I'll never stitch this.  I'm at chillyhollow at hotmail dot com.

In honor of nutcrackers, today's Canvas of the Day is one of the more unusual nutcrackers I've seen--Susan Roberts' Astronaut Nutcracker.  Go NASA!

Thanks for the nutcracker show and tell, Amy.  That was fun!

Too Many Rules?

Needle Nicely finds there are too many rules! I think she belongs to the SharonG School of Needlepoint where SharonG says there are two rules--the thread goes through the eye of the needle and the needle goes through the canvas.  Are there rules you always follow?  Me, I always discard my needle and pick out new ones for a new project, but that's because I am Miss Acid Hands.

The Three Days of Christmas

Want to see some great Christmas stitching? Linda B. has the Three Days of Christmas. Next year there will be more!

Suzanne shows off her Christmas present stitching, half of which is holiday-themed.

If you ever wanted a needlepoint bag with horses, this is for you! The theme isn't holiday-related but if I found **this** under my tree, I would be pretty happy!

Casey has a wonderful Christmas acorn, complete with cardinal.  This is from Melissa Shirley and it is terrific.
