Antique Bargello

If you are a bargello fan, you'll be interested in seeing a piece dated to the first half of the 1600s found in a French museum. When this bargello was stitched, Louis XIV was king in France, Elizabeth I and Shakespeare had just died, the Ming Dynasty was collapsing and the settlement of Jamestown was founded in Virginia. It is amazing that it has survived so long but it did, a testament to the unending appeal of needle arts.
