Orna Willis has been digging in the five drawers of designs she has not released and posted a few photos. These beauties inspired a musing about inspiration and how nothing is new in the art world and yet everything is.

I wish she'd just opened the drawers and taken photos. I want to see everything!

Puffins with Ann
Rosie of the NJNA chapter of ANG recently took an Ann Strite-Kurz pilot class through the San chapter of ANG. It sounds fascinating!

Here's Ann's Razzle-Dazzle, by the way. You can see why Rosie and her stitching buddies were enchanted!

If you want to see more of Ann's work, here is her website. The books (I highly recommend all of them but Backgrounds and The Science of Canvas Embroidery are my favorites) are listed in the top three rows while Ann's charts are the other rows.

If you subscribe to Needlepoint Now magazine, you've seen Ann's column on using common stitches in uncommon ways. She's a true original when it comes to her creations and a master of hiding thread paths on the back of open patterns.

Ann's "Posh Pansy Petals" is ANG's upcoming Workshop by Mail if you want to to studying couching with a master.
