Halloween's Funky Scream UPDATED

Ruth Schmuff has announced the fall Mystery class at Bedecked and Beadazzled. It's a screaming ghost done in the funky Hal Mayforth style.  This one's going to be interesting.  It's on 13 count and is 8x11, just a bit smaller than a sheet of typing paper.  (Does anyone call it typing paper anymore?  Am I showing my age?)

I can't imagine what Ruth will do with this cartoonish ghost to add bling, interest and laughs to a canvas that isn't my style at all.  I'm betting when Ruth finishes with him, he will be right up my alley, though.

UPDATE:  Here he is, stitched and finished!

If this is just up your alley but you don't have time for a class in your schedule right now, check out the other Hal Mayforth canvases that Ruth distributes on her website.

Come to Think About It...

...why aren't more of those stunning pieces we are stitching collected?

All I can say is that we need to document our work so that in 200 years when art collectors discover needlepoint of the late 20th-early 21st Century, they have some idea of who we were and what motivated us.  We are truly under the radar now, blogs, magazines, national seminars and all.  No one notices us and our handwork.

Not yet, anyway.  But someday....

P.S.  Many thanks to Liz who found Mr. Wileman's art and alerted me.

ANG 2014 Color Class (Orna Willis)

Some lucky folks who attend the ANG Seminar in 2014 will be playing with color in Orna Willis' class. Isn't this design gorgeous? Apparently each stitcher will make it their own through the choice of advertising photographs. Amazing!

Orna is a master of color.  I hope this is available in chart form after Seminar is over.
