Kreinik has a new website!
http://kreinikthread.blogspot.com/2013/04/new-kreinik-website.html
Well, it's the same location but the way the site is set up has completely changed. If you have bookmarked their online color cards for their metallics and silk threads, those links will no longer work. (I have updated those at the bottom of Blog in the "Needlepoint Groups and Threads Resources" section. Keep scrolling way past where the articles on Blog end.)
I also added a link to their Find a Color page which is new and fun to play with.

One Turkey, Covered in Gems

Old World Designs has a stunning dimensional turkey canvas from Labors of Love that they are teaching. Instead of the look of a stuffed animal, this piece looks like a jeweled sculpture, fit for the most formal Thanksgiving table.

The canvas has three stitch guides (one for each major section of the turkey) and you can even purchase the bead kit if you want to mimic what the shop has done completely. I have no idea about the costs but you can talk to Linda at the shop for all the details.

The Magic Happens At Stitchers Inc.

After we joined Stephanie yesterday and saw a shop and stitching from a student's perspective, Robin King posted a bit about the Saturday canvas enhancement classes she teaches at Stitchers Inc. Her pride in her students' accomplishments shines brightly, doesn't it? This is going to be a four part series that I'll update as Robin shows off more of her students' work. I believe that all of the guides she created for her students are available from Robin. Just email her to ask.

I Hate Pinterest But...
Labels:
Mary Corbet,
Pinterest
Are you familiar with Pinterest? It's a sort of online bulletin board where you can "pin" images from all over the Internet. I was astounded just how many images taken from Blog (without my knowledge or permission) are posted on Pinterest. I set up an account to do a search (you can't even look at Pinterest without an account, which I hate) and discovered 14 photos from Blog labeled Chilly Hollow. There are probably more with other labels.
I do not like having photos that I have taken or photos that friends have given me to use on Blog posted to Pinterest without folks asking first. I have asked people to remove photos and several have done as I have asked. Pinterest is apparently good about removing photos if you ask the Pinterest account to remove your photos and that doesn't happen.
I loathe Pinterest.
However, not everyone feels the same way.

How about you? Is this just another way to get inspired by needlepoint? Am I the only person who doesn't like this happening behind my back?
