The Smart Cookie Award for the month goes to Pat Correz who emailed me about her genius way of getting canvases off stretcher bars. Pat uses this:

You slide the metal fork under your staples or tacks and push down. Up pops the staple or thumb tack. Done!
Note that these have to be ordered online. Staples no longer carries them in stores although you can order online and pick them up at a local Staples location.
