Artist at Work (With Tiki Heads) UPDATED

Orna Willis is working away on "Vintage Garden," her newest piece. In this blog entry she shows off the two color ways.   I prefer the version at the top of the page since the white coils make this look like a Tiki head to me, turning Vintage Garden into a retro Florida tiki hut with tropical flowers all around.

UPDATE:  You can create your own Vintage Garden as Orna has the chart (and a thread kit if you wish) ready for purchase.

Sorority Girls Need Bling

Suzanne's done a great job on the Delta Gamma heart she stitched for her daughter. Look at the sequins! The best part, though, is the highly padded border. Isn't that wonderful!?

There are some very useful ideas here, whether you have a sorority sister to stitch for or not.

The Handicraft Club

Read about Rhode Island's Handicraft Club, home of creativity and purpose found in working with one's hands. Don't miss the slide show at the top of the article.  Many thanks to Caryl, by the way, for finding this and mentioning it on Facebook's Needlepoint Nation.
