"Susan “Sasi” Ives passed away peacefully on August 15, 2018 in Boca Raton, Florida. Susan was born to Jack and Eleanor Seigel in New York on November 4, 1942. Born an artist, she expressed her creativity through her vivid paintings, sketches and words from a very young age. In 1958, Susan went to Camp Sequoia as a 15 yr old camper and met Mark, the love of her life. They wed in 1962 and were lovingly married for 56 years. Susan brought up her children Lori and Shari with Mark on Long Island before recently moving to Boca Raton, FL. Susan Adele Seigel Ives “SASI”, founded her company Sasi Creations Inc. early in her life and has spread her art nationwide through her needlework company and her passion for painting. She shared her talent and whimsy with almost every waiter, waitress, receptionist, and person who was blessed to get a Sasi original sketch while they worked with her. Susan also had a talent for bringing friends and family together and was greatly loved! Susan will be remembered by those that knew her as a fabulous artist, a quiet poet, and a master game player. Susan “Sasi” is survived by her husband Mark, her children Lori and Shari, her sister Bonnie, her grandchildren Jack and Danielle, and a large loving extended family. Services to be held at The Gardens at Boca Raton, 4103 N. Military Trail, Boca Raton, Florida 33431 on August 20 at 11:30 pm. Donations can be made in Susan’s memory to Wind River Cancer Retreats either online at https://donorbox.org/susan-sasi-ives or checks can be mailed to 430 Larsen Lane, Tryon, NC 28782.

Raymond Crawford in Cross Stitch

The Needlework Retailer just announced two of Raymond Crawford's needlepoint designs are going to be available as cross stitch.

It will be interesting to see if this becomes a trend, although I think anyone who has seen what Pat Miller did with the needlepoint canvas version will find the XS version way too plain.

Of course not everyone likes embellishment….

What do you think?  Are you buying the canvas and Pat's stitch guide or are you a cross stitcher?
