Anne Stradal has created a background for a Joan Thomasson angel where there was none. I think she did a fabulous job. Creating something from nothing, she changed the piece to a larger size suitable for finishing as a stand up piece. If you want to follow Anne's progress from when she started working on this last December, click on the Angels tag at the bottom of this article and all the articles about this piece will magically appear.

Baby Bling Buttons
Labels:
buttons,
crystals. Crystaletts,
Needle in a Haystack,
NIAH,
rhinestones
Several shops came back from the February 2013 TNNA trade show in Long Beach with tiny crystal buttons with baby shanks. Needle in a Haystack has just posted photos and great information about what I call the baby bling buttons.

Their real name is Crystaletts. They are very small (3mm) rhinestone buttons with tiny loop shanks you can push through a hole on your canvas to secure on the back. NIAH has stocked several colors of the buttons with mostly gold settings, although they come in nickel or black metal frameworks as well. They would look very nice as buttons on Santa's suit or as the center of fantasy flowers. Time to rummage through your stash and see who needs baby bling buttons!
