The thought from the day comes from a video The Glass Pingle posted that talks about something that is vanishing from the world today--"...a very intense engagement with the properties of materials..."

I love the thought that there is such a varied group that is manipulating threads for sport, art and surgery!
UPDATE: The link to the video on The Glass Pingle doesn't work. Apparently the site has taken down this article. Sorry! Many thanks to Pat for pointing this out.
UPDATE #2: The problem with the film has been fixed and it is here.

No, there's not snow on the ground here in Chilly Hollow (although I expect to see plenty of that in January and February). Peggy at NeedlePaint.com is stitching stockings the company designed for her twin nephews and needed snow stitches for each. She cleverly came up with two different kinds of snow using two different stitches. I thought you'd like to see her solutions to the snow problem.

UPDATE: Peggy also needs sky stitches. Stay tuned for more!

Yes, Mary Corbet believes in UFOs -- unfinished objects! Only she calls them UPs and she thinks they are a very good thing. Here's why.
