Needlework Unlimited in Minneapolis has just announced they are closing on December 15th, 2016. I am sad to lose another shop but hope the folks there have a grand new adventure waiting in the wings.

A Bit More About Rainbow Persian

Rainbow Gallery has posted Amy Bunger's mini review of their new tapestry wool called Rainbow Persian on their website. A thread expert posted a query on Facebook about this new thread, asking how Rainbow Persian differs from Fleur de Paris' Anahera, which is also a single strand of wool. The answer (provided by Rainbow Gallery's Sally London) is that the threads are the same except that Anahera has a new name and is wrapped on cards. Sally also said they plan ten more colors in the thread for January 2017. Sometime to look forward to!

Tiffany Blue in Kreinik
Recently someone on Facebook asked what was a good match for Tiffany's famous blue jewelry box in the Kreinik line of threads. Doug Kreinik to the rescue!

For those who don't "do" Facebook, I'll quote him here--
"TIFFANY BLUE: A stitcher recently asked if there was a Kreinik thread color (to stitch on 18-count canvas) to match the famous Tiffany Blue. Use Kreinik #12 Braid on 18-mesh for perfect coverage (if you prefer lighter coverage, use Fine #8 Braid). For the Tiffany color, we suggest 029 Turquoise or 684 Aquamarine, as it leans toward the teal side. If you want to stay in the blue family, Kreinik color 014 or 3214 would be the closest."
