Don't Adjust That Dial

I just realized some folks think their browser is broken and that's why they can't see all of my current piece.  No, Miko is deliberately peeking out from behind the center column.  I thought it was more suspenseful if you just caught glimpses of her here and there.  Sorry to have caused you puzzlement!  You know those geishas. They are flirtatious, always looking over their fans or from behind Blog.

In other news, I updated my article about Carolyn Hedge Baird on the CH Stitch Guides blog since she is adding photos of pieces she has stitch guides available for on her Facebook page.  Here's the link or you can go straight to Facebook if you have "friended" her already.

Counted Thread and Disaster Relief

First, the good news.  Carol has revealed a new design "Nile Jewels."  Very pretty!  I don't think it is actually available yet but you can leave a message for Carol on her blog to find out for sure.

I've always wanted to stitch a needle case and Cottage Garden Threads has released a pattern that evokes the cardboard needle sets you could buy with a design from the 1920-30s.  Very Clarice Cliff!

The bad news is the Vermont flooding in the wake of Hurricane Irene.  If you followed the making of the reproduction 17th Century jacket, you'll remember the gorgeous silk lining that came from a Vermont shop.  The shop's untouched (by inches!) but they still need customers, as does every shop in Vermont right now.  If you have contacts in Vermont, it's time to buy from them to help them over this disaster.
