Japanese Masking Tape

Ada Hayden of Eye Candy just introduced me to a new tool--the Japanese masking tape called Washi tape.  Ada uses it to tape the raw edges of her canvases. She says it is acid free and archival quality and slightly less sticky than our traditional masking tape.

This Etsy site shows off the decorative types available.  Any crafts emporium with a big scrapbooking section will probably carry Washi tape.  Hobby Lobby, here I come!

Thanks, Ada!

A Purple Daisy for Class

Laura Perin is going to run her popular Purple Daisy cyberclass again. This is a fun way to learn techniques like messy beading or shadow stitching, using a photo transfer canvas as the basis for your stitching.  You can also learn how to build a complex border from simple elements by watching Laura's border techniques.  It's not very expensive and it is guaranteed to be fun.
