Calling All New Counted Thread Designers

TNNA is holding a contest for new counted thread and cross stitch designers. The winners will receive free display space at the Columbus TNNA show in June. If you are just starting out and would like to enter, the deadline to send TNNA your portfolia is May 1st.  Kreinik's blog has posted some details but you'll have to talk to TNNA for more information.

Introducing Old World Designs' New Totes

Have you liked the Julie Pischke tote bag canvases (usually on 10-12 count so they are a quick stitch) that come with their own bag? Except none of the canvases really grabbed you? Old World Designs has introduced a similar tote bag series.

You can see the original Pischke Pockets canvases in the links below  I have no idea if Julie designed Old World Designs' versions, but they sure look similar to me.  (By the way, the link to the standalone Pischke Pockets site that has a video of how to attach the canvas to the bag doesn't work. I think that website has been taken down.)

How To Stitch A Bow (And Quiet Criticism)

Sue gives us a lesson in stitching a pretty pink bow and also a lesson in quieting the over-critical part of our heads.

I have learned from my perfectionist friends not to settle for poor stitching and hope I've taught them to loosen up and realize we are stitching towards perfection.  Not often achieving it is human.
