Cinco de Mayo Crepe Paper Flowers
Labels:
Janet Moyer,
Mexican Lady,
needlepoint
Are you having withdrawals now that Juanita the Mexican Lady's weekly stitching blog post is over? I am!
But Janet Moyer kindly sent a photo from the Cinco de Mayo celebration in San Diego Sunday that shows the big crepe paper flowers she wanted Juanita's flowers to resemble. She really did a good job with her version, didn't she?
So celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us and enjoy one last posting about The Mexican Lady.
(Thanks, Janet. The photo is lovely.)

This is wow! I would have loved to have been there!
you will laugh...when i was in high school, i bought a book on paper flower making and made hundreds for a party my parents were giving...that was just the beginning, I was asked to make flowers for a school dance( i taught a whole group to do it, and we literally made thousands to fill a gym for a big Spring dance the and for a set in a play), everyone i knew would buy me supplies if only i would make flowers for them...it got so bad , i would dream about making the flowers....finally i had to say no, and I haven't made a flower since...lol...
great photo...

We must be about the same age. We made crepe paper flowers in Girl Scouts one year and in my junior year in high school we decorated the gym with them for the prom. I made dozens myself. Wish I remembered how--this are gorgeous! Janet was very thoughtful to take the photo for us.
