The Nashville Needlepointer Organizes

The Nashville Needlepointer has a clever way of organizing her canvases--she bought a 12x12 acid-free photo organizing scrapbook to hold her smaller canvases.

Of course this won't work for the big pieces, but it's a good way to keep your smaller designs where you can easily flip through them to pick the next project.

She also keeps kitted projects in project bags which she puts in magazine racks.  Again, this probably only works well for smaller canvases but we all have lots of those.

Genius!

The Smart Cookie Award Goes to Beverly!

Beverly went looking for some tiny snowflake sequins and stumbled across these.

She bought them from the Kat Scrappiness website and says she got good customer service from them.  Kat Scrappiness carries lots of different sequins for scrapbooking in a variety of sizes.  Shop carefully as many don't have holes to attach them; they are meant to be glued onto paper.  You might be able to pierce those with a needle but maybe not.

Inside a Pocket Watch

Needle in a Haystack has an unusual finishing idea for very small pieces done on silk gauze--frame them with pocket watches from the scrapbooking aisle of your crafts emporium!

Here's a bigger view of these fake pocket watches.  Very clever, NIAH!

Japanese Masking Tape

Ada Hayden of Eye Candy just introduced me to a new tool--the Japanese masking tape called Washi tape.  Ada uses it to tape the raw edges of her canvases. She says it is acid free and archival quality and slightly less sticky than our traditional masking tape.

This Etsy site shows off the decorative types available.  Any crafts emporium with a big scrapbooking section will probably carry Washi tape.  Hobby Lobby, here I come!

Thanks, Ada!
