If you are curious about the shop owners you have met online or want to know a bit about California needlepoint shops, here's the place to explore. There are photos and brief descriptions of many of the shops you want to visit, plus links to the websites. Note that Regal Rabbit closed when the owner retired and relocated but their website store is still active. You just can't visit in person any more. Status Thimble has also closed. (Sob!)

Another update to this list is Golden Gate Needlework in the Presidio Heights area of San Francisco. Established about eighteen months ago at 3310 Sacramento Street, San Francisco, CA 94118 telephone (415) 345-8779, the owners, Reiko and Caroline, worked for Elaine Magnin and took over when the owner retired. They concentrate on needlepoint only and have an amazing selection of canvasses and threads in a tiny space. They are very friendly and helpful.
Thanks very much! I'm glad to hear about another new shop as the site I'm talking about above hasn't been updated in a while. Hope I get there one day! I was a big fan of Elaine Magnin and would love to see Golden Gate Needlework.
Oops! It is Golden Gate Needlepoint, not Needlework, sorry, my mistake! Marilyn C-S
No problem. I'm sure anyone can find it just by looking for Golden Gate. Tell everyone hello from me when you visit next.
