The one part of Blog writing I don't enjoy is the weekly listings of trunk shows and sales that various shops are having. It is boring to write and a constant hassle to keep track of the next batch. discover what the discount pricing is, etc. Are these useful to anyone? They rapidly become outdated and I eventually delete the listings from Blog to save space.
I do think the shops like having the extra publicity but if no one pays much attention to these, I plan to stop doing these postings. So I've set up a poll. Please let me know if you like having the sales/trunks shows listed or if you don't ever pay any attention to them.
Thanks!

I do love looking at the trunk shows, though I admit it rarely tempts me into buying.
I think this is excellent information Jane. I wouldn't stop, but decrease if you want to :)
I enjoy knowing about the sales and checking out new (to me) shops. I have to do too much ordering now since my reliable LNS shut down. THe other LNS took 6 months to get me a thread I needed - about 4 months beyond the deadline I had for finishing. Not worth my time anymore.

I would much rather read about how you are stitching a canvas than about trunk shows. Unless I am looking for a specific canvas, the trunk show information isn't that helpful. But having you explain why you chose a stitch or thread is very helpful.
Boring!!! I would much rather read about your stitching and projects than free publicity for LNS's that I will never shop at. JMO
I read nearly 30 needlepoint blogs and get several newsletters, so I already know about the sales and trunk shows. It's easy to keep up on something like Google Reader, which delivers new entries all in one place right to my computer. It's a lovely service that you provide Jane, but if you dislike doing it, I urge you to spend your time doing something else. :) RobinG in Indiana
I also know about many of the sales/trunk shows since I read many blogs and receive newsletters. I agree with ChitownStitcher...I'd rather read about what and how you are stitching. Besides, this is YOUR blog....you should write what interests you otherwise you'll burn out from writing anything at all. -- Wendy
I love knowing this information. Thank you Jane for all of your hard work.

I too would rather read about your stitching or other stitching than who's got a truck show or canvases on sale. I love you're work and have learned a lot reading your blog over the years.. Also will be starting my Dragon in July and have pulled out all of your suggestions - can't wait.
Jane, I believe your blog should bring you enjoyment and excitement. And if listing Trunk Shows and sales is a drag, then by all means stop! Many shops have electronic newsletters which are sent out, and some shops post news on their various FB pages. I'm more interested in YOUR ideas/opinions and experiences in the world of Needlepoint. However, whatever you decide to do, your fans will continue to read your excellent blog. Thanks! Elaine Stevens
Living in South Africa, and acutely conscious of exchange rates, I am at best indifferent as a potential customer. It can be fun to see new designs etc, but I've never seen one that's changed my life. In your shoes, I'd drop that info in favour of more personal stuff.
I love hearing about the sales all over the country. I would miss most of these without your "heads-up," Jane. Thank you for providing this service for us. Of course, I also love to read all the other wonderful info you include in blog. In fact, yours is often the ONLY blog I have time to keep up with.
You do all of us stitchers a HUGE service! Thanks!

Jane, If shops want the publicity, make it their responsibility to notify you of upcoming events. That should save you hours of research. It might be a good compromise .

I like to know what you are stitching, not what shops are pitching ;)
Bring back your projects! I learn more about needlepoint by watching your projects progress than I do from the "public service announcements". Your posts filled with tips and techniques and fiber selections have done wonders for my needlework! And, back in the day, you had the occasional interview with canvas artists and other experts -- those special articles were, well, special! I do like hearing about the big shows and such, but the weekly sales list is not really why I drop by Chilly Hollow every morning!
I vote for less swear words uttered doing tedious research and more free time for enjoying your big stack of projects. Thank you most sincerely for your wonderful blog.

I have missed seeing your stitching progress. I understand you have to stitch in secrecy until the big reveal, but your thoughts and reasons along the way are very helpful.
I most enjoy reading about your own stitching, Jane. It's such a great learning experience to follow along as you make decisions and experiment with threads, stitches, and techniques. I've been wishing lately that we could have more of those entries!
