Magnetic Genius UPDATED

Robin King is a genius! She's come up with the perfect way to display all those needle magnets I love to collect.  Right now the ones not holding various needles on my current canvases live stuck together in my stitching drawer.  Robin has a much better way to store and organize them.

Last week I got a nice email from Lisa at Accoutrement Designs, the makers of those fun Mag Friend needle magnets, too many of which live on my canvases.  Lisa's offered to send a magnet to CH so that I could give it away to Blog readers.  You can see many of the Mag Friends on the Accoutrement Designs website but an even better place to explore is the Accoutrement blog (second link).

If you have received your Sept-Oct. Needlepoint News (I haven't-SOB!) there is an article about the company in this new issue.

Scroll down at the link below to see the new witch magnet, which is the one I have courtesy of Lisa to give away.  She has a yellow face and purple hair, like all wicked witches.   With Halloween stitching going full blast, she is going to be a perfect stitching companion.

I'll do a random drawing of folks who either post a Comment here or email me directly at chillyhollow at hotmaildotcom on October 1st so that the winner has Miss Witch in plenty of time for Halloween.

UPDATE:  Miss Witch has arrived at her new home.

I have to admit I have a weakness for stitching magnets. I find them useful and very charming, and that witch will be wonderful.

Thanks for the very cool idea for keeping needle magnets in order. I've been trying to come up with a better way to keep mine than on the refrigerator!

Hi Jane,
The adorable witch magnet could live next to my pumpkin magnet and be very happy in NJ! Your blog is the first thing I look at each morning on the computer!
Best, Gretchen

It looks like there are three different Barbaras posting. Could you please repost a set of initials so I can keep you all straight?

HI Jane,

Sorry for the confusion. This is Barbara B. in New York.

No problem, Barbara B. It is just hard to know which Barbara won if your name comes up in the drawing Monday morning! We might have to have a stitch off to decide which Barbara! LOL

I've never seen these magnets before - they are beautiful! I love all of them. Now there's a whole new bunch of magnets to collect. Whee!

Accoutrement Designs' Mag Friends are limited editions. They design a magnet and have a batch made, and often they don't make them again. The most popular ones are made again but often what you see are new batches, which are limited in number. At least that's what I understand.

Hi, Jane! I already found a similar frame last week at AC Moore (in Ashburn)thanks to Robin's great idea. They were out of the green, so I had to settle for pink. And now I need more magnets for it. What a great excuse to collect more, right?

The Chilly Hollow Needlepoint Adventure said...

Great minds think alike, Donna. I hit all the local crafts emporiums looking for something similar without success. I wonder if a trip to AC Moore is doable this month? (Or next?)

It is a great excuse to collect more magnets. If you only have a few the frame will look silly, right? Better buy more QUICK! LOL
