Another Monday, Another Mystery UPDATED

Laura Perin released another Monday Mini Mystery chart on her blog last Monday. This one is being worked from the center out and is based on a quilt pattern. I can't wait to see the actual stitched verions of this!

All About the Mellore

If you read much about goldwork, you'll run across the mention of a tool called a mellore. It's a stirling silver tool, so it's rather expensive. Is it a necessary tool? What does it do? Mary Corbet answers these questions in her explanation of the mellore and how it is used when you work a lot with gold threads.

The Preppie Christmas

Barbara Bergsten just finished her double flamingo Christmas ornament. It is part of an adorable series of designs perfect for the Preppie Christmas. So get out your penny loafers, put on your Lily Pulitzer shorts and matching headband (or baseball cap), get that polo shirt on and start stitching for Christmas!

Monthly Club News Report

Fans of Needle Deeva's monthly clubs will be excited to see the latest of the Fabulous Fir trees models is finished. I am intriqued by the background stitches Vicky DeAngelis choose for this one.  This series will be available starting in August from your local shop if they signed up for it with the Deeva herself.

Fireside Stitchery has some terrific clubs available.  You can either choose Currently Active or Starting Soon to see what wonders will be available.  DO NOT miss Queen of the Sea under Currently Active--it's a beauty!  The companion piece Nepture (both canvases are from Debbie Mumm/Melissa Shirley) is hiding under Starting Soon.  I've gotten glimpses of several of the finished Trick or Treat canvases from Debbie Mumm which will start soon.  Trust me, they are fabulous as well.
