Ruth Schmuff's October newsletter is ready for viewing and it is chock full of classes and clubs. However, the best part for me is Ruth's little essay on the Stitch of the Month, which is brick stitch. Boring, you say? Not after Ruth gets done with it! She slants the brick stitches and elongates them and staggers them to leave room for beads. (After all Ruth is all about the Bling!) Very clever technique and one we all should use with stitches that aren't exactly what we want.

Laura Perin
Laura Perin has announced her newest design--"Halloween Bargello." It's purple and orange and pumpkin and bats and more! Since it is a charted piece, you can always switch to more fall colors if you are not a purple and orange lover. I think it would be lovely in reds and oranges and browns myself.

Finishing Friday
I've enjoyed collecting finishing links to publish on Fridays. I am not fond of doing my own finishing but I do it especially for small stockings, ornaments and some pillows because it is much cheaper. Therefore I love finishing tutorials. They help me improve while saving money and also show just how skilled the professionals are. Who knew a little scissors fob needed so many steps!
