GIMP Tutorial

Bobbin and Fred have done a great tutorial on using GIMP to adjust colors in a needlepoint design when you are looking for color inspiration.  GIMP is free image manipulation software.  It's limited in what it can do but for the purposes of this tutorial, it works well.

Pashima Colors Online

The Knotted Needle just added photos of all the Gloriana Pashima colors to their website.

This is fabulous news since Gloriana hasn't added photos of any of the Pashima line to their own website.  Pashima is a silk/cashmere thread that is plyable into four strands that can be further split if you are careful.  It's a great thread to add to your toolbox.

Smart Cookie Award for March UPDATED

This month's Smart Cookie Award goes to Cindy, who is working a multi-colored plaid border around her design.

Cindy took a few mini quilters clips and glued magnets to the back.  She uses them to gather her thread tails on the front until she needs a color from the group again.
