Breaking News: Annie Lane Has Died

Lynn Mason just announced the death of Annie Lane on Needlepoint Nation.

https://www.facebook.com/groups/NeedlepointNation/permalink/6467900419953728/

It is so sad.  Her funny animal designs were big favorites among stitchers, particularly her original Twelve Days of Christmas pieces.  Luckily Wellesley Needlepoint has licensed some of her work if you wish to add to your collection or just want to see her designs.

I don't know if her Etsy shop with her Annie Lane Originals line will continue.

Videos to Stitch By

Tricia Nguyễn is not only a specialist in historical embroidery, she knows metallurgy and has been spending time in Europe visiting artisans and learning about metal threads.  She's also stumbled across the YouTube video series about crafts posted by Business Insider on their video channel.

Apparently they are great to stitch to.  Have fun starting with the video of Mario Menegazzo's gold beating workshop that is linked to above.  You can find more videos along the same lines here, especially the So Expensive ones--

Lettering Tip from Cincinnati Needlepoint

Cincinnati Needlepoint has a great tip for stitching slanting parts of letters on their Instagram account.

See the R in "Burrow"?  Use the right side arrow to see how it's handled to become less like stairs.
