Blue Bonnet Studio Needle Arts Retreat 2014

Maryelvis of Blue Bonnet Studio just posted to her Facebook page that their website has been updated with the classes she'll offer at the 2014 Needle Arts Retreat.   This Texas shop does wonderful Japanese Embroidery classes but that isn't all they offer.   There are also classes in goldwork, needlepoint, and much more from many fabulous teachers.  Have fun checking out the offerings, then mark your calendar for February, 2014!

Spiral Eye Needles

If threading needles drives you nuts, you might want to take a look at Spiral Eye Needles. Mary Corbet reviews them here.  There is also a link to the review she did earlier for you to read.  Mary's right--anything that makes your stitching easier is worth owning.

You can buy Spiral Eye Needles (which are stainless steel so those with nickel allergies can probably use them successfully) at The Needle Lady's website.

A Peak Inside "That's Not Needlepoint Book 2"

In Robin King's latest report about the TNNA Market last week, she tells us about dede Odgen's new project book.  Since Robin worked on the book diagrams and guides for three of the six projects described, she has a unique perspective and information about the book.

This is the second book in the "That's Not Needlepoint" series.  Here is the first, which I own, and which is set up in a similar way.  It is half stitch guide for several of dede's canvases and half inspiration since so many of the topics and stitches she covers can be used anywhere.

I reviewed the first book.  You can see that review here.  Do read the comments as well as they reveal even more about the first book's organization.

HP Boxes

I am impressed by the beauty of the boxes by HP Designs, so I thought you'd like to see a batch that just arrived at Nimble Needle.  These are made for stitched inserts in the lids and come in a huge range of styles and finishes.
