Tall Bird in a Masque? UPDATED

Ruth Schmuff has revealed her Halloween mystery class for 2018—Zecca's mysterious "Tall Bird on a Rock."  Is the bird dressed for Halloween?  Is it a bank robber out on a spree?  Is it going to a Masquerade in Venice?  Only the stitcher knows!

I'll update this article as Ruth Tells All.  First, she did the background and the flower pods.

Which Floor Stand is Right for You?

Which floor stand is right for you? Mary Corbet tackles this important question with information about quite a few brand names and often a link to her review of each.

For those interested, I have one of the K's Creations metal floor stands and I absolutely love it!

Why Fit In?

Ruth Schmuff has finished one of her Mystery with a Twist classes. Here is Zecca's Why Fit in and it's lovely!

UPDATE:  Here she is framed.

Bedecked and Beadazzled offers Mystery with a Twists class periodically.  The lessons only arrive very slowly, to give folks plenty of time to stitch the project.  By slowly, I mean it can take over a year for the class to finish.

Hearts for Hospice UPDATED

The Kansas City ANG chapter has a philanthropic project called Hearts for Hospice and are looking for stitchers to help.   This is how it works—

"The members of Greater Kansas City Needlepoint Guild initiated a project in 2015 to fulfill a need at a local hospice center. When a resident passes away, a heart is placed on the door which notifies those passing by to be respectful of others who are mourning the death of a loved one. The heart is then taken home by a family member as a remembrance of the care their loved one received while at the center."

Finishing is provided by the local chapter.   If you are interested, here's how you can contribute. If you have further questions, email Sue at heartsforhospicegkcng@gmail.com

Update:  Anne of ABS Designs has stitched for the group.  Here is Anne's first heart and it's a beauty.

The Fourth Queen UPDATED

Gay Ann Rogers' next sale is today! And it's going to include The Fourth Queen.
http://www.gayannrogers.com

The fourth queen, you say?  Gay Ann has created portraits of three queens so far.  That's Elizabeth I on the left, Catherine the Great in the middle, and Eleanor of Aquitaine on the right.
https://www.facebook.com/860462527326471/photos/a.860475930658464.1073741827.860462527326471/1815049158534465/?type=3&theater

These are all sold as kits with the canvas, beads and threads, so they are rather pricey and Gay Ann is not planning to sell any of these Queens ever again.  Gay Ann says the sale will end August 24 or when she runs out of kits.  So if you are a fan, don't tarry.

By the way, Fiber Talk will interview Gay Ann Rogers on Sunday, August 12 about the Last Queen (who is Queen Victoria) and more.

UPDATE:  Shining Needle Society is going to do a stitch-along with Gay Ann for those who buy the Fourth Queen kit.  Details will be in the kit if you purchase one.
