The Pumpkin Harvest Begins!

Today's the day! The annual pumpkin "harvest" at SM Wollman Designs begins!  Sharon finds and recycles old needlepoint canvases into pumpkin shapes to create one-of-a-kind recycled pumpkins.  These are all limited editions, folks, so if you fall for a pumpkin, don't wait to order.

The sale ends November 3, 2018—or when the pumpkins are all gone to new homes.

Free from the DMC Pattern Archives

DMC has been around for hundreds of years at this point. They have a free chart section on their website that releases old patterns periodically, so you can stitch all sorts of interesting patterns from the past.  The downloads are free but for a few dollars you can order a kit with the threads used.
https://www.dmc.com/us/patterns-5041,collection-the-archive-collection-455/?utm_source=Commonthread+Masterlist&utm_campaign=132680aadc-EMAIL_US-1k-Archive-Collection_2018_07_29&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_3a652561da-132680aadc-82831385&mc_cid=132680aadc&mc_eid=f7c1b12c64

I think most of the designs were intended for cross stitch but many appear to be full cross stitches so they can easily be done on needlepoint canvas.

Brenda's Favorite Beading Thread

Brenda uses fishing line as beading thread, and explains exactly what she uses and where to get it at a good price on her blog.  Don't miss the comments section where other folks chime in with their favorite beading thread.

The Needle Park Avenue

Those of us working a piece with a lot of color changes have to figure out how to organize our threads so that we don't spend more time threading up and putting away than stitching.  The Needle Park Avenue is a good way to keep your needles with all those colors organized and handy.  Here's a bit about how it works.
