We got word on the ANG list today that Jean Hilton has died in her home in Arizona. She was one of the most creative and inventive designer of what we call counted thread designs today.

Amen. I almost got to meet her last Christmas as she thought about coming to the Shenandoah Valley for the holidays but the trip was cancelled and I missed out on a great opportunity.
One of the greatest moments of my stitching life was when Jean named a stitch after me.
I was absolutely shocked when I heard about Jean Hilton's death. I am still having a hard time believing it.
What a loss to our stitching community.
Jean will be missed.

I was shocked also. She was in poor health but not all that old. Many of us stitch well into our 80s, you know.

I just heard this, I am shocked and dismayed. I took a class from her, she was as fun and free in class as she is in her stitches. I knew she had a very hard time when her husband and mom died in the same year, and knew she hadn't designed a lot for a while, seemed like she was just getting into it again. do you know what happened?
Sarah, I understand her seizures were getting worse and worse. I don't know if she died from one or perhaps from a heart attack brought on by one. It was very sad.
She was teaching a little locally, and I hoped she would get back into designing as she loved it but sometimes things don't work out the way you want.
